People often ask "What brought you to Charleston?"
Well...My stepfather grew up here, and when I was growing, up we spent so much time in the lowcountry, the saltwater and pluff mud seemed to become a part of me, never wanting to stray far. I had a number of friends that went to the College of Charleston giving me an excuse to visit often. My first close friend to marry had her wedding in Charleston in the Spring at the Cathedral on Broad St. with a reception at Hibernian Hall catered by Mrs. Hamby's with beautiful flowers and a fun band - A beautiful classic Charleston wedding. After attending showers and parties for the couple in Charleston and Beaufort and finally the wedding, I was hooked for life. Many friends' weddings followed, and there was always a party, outdoor activity, or local band to go see. Charleston quickly became my forever home. I've never looked back!
I moved to Charleston over 27 years ago, right out of graduate school with a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry. I grew up in Atlanta, GA, graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Chemistry, then moved on to Georgia Tech for graduate school. I worked in Manufacturing for 10 years here in Charleston before building a commercial building in a neighborhood in Mt. Pleasant that was still in it's infancy called I'On. I designed the first floor as my shop with my home upstairs and ran a successful unique gift, home, and garden boutique, Sweet Olive, for 12 years. I've always been a hard worker, so I have worn many other additional hats over the years - adjunct chemistry professor and tutor, manager of my first small apartment building (an old home on Colonial Lake, Downtown), container garden designer (and planter), and Uber and Lyft driver.
My interest in real estate, some might call it an obsession, has been a constant through the years, so I finally made it official and became a REALTORĀ® part-time. I found that Real Estate happily took more and more of my time. It has now become my full time passion. Finding just the right home for a buyer is satisfying and exciting. I also love selling a home so the owners can move on to their next adventure. Over the years, I have lived all over the area, and as Charleston grows, I truly enjoy exploring and learning newly developed communities.
