Rudy Matzner is a real estate consultant and Licensed Real Estate Salesman, with a 20 year career in the private sector following 25 years of service in the U.S. Navy. His resume includes a variety of managerial, marketing, and consulting engagements with national and international corporations
He has been an active real estate investor, profitably buying, renovating, renting and selling residential properties, since moving to Charleston 31 years ago.
He has completed graduate level courses in marketing and contracting, and put this knowledge to use in negotiating multi-million dollar real estate leases, both in the United States and abroad. The total value of contracts negotiated by organizations he headed exceeds $50 million dollars.
His experience includes supervision and inspection of all trades involved in construction and repair, including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing, as well as engineering and design professionals.
He brings a thorough understanding of the problems involved in buying, selling, and relocating with a total of 15 moves during his career. Most of these moves occurred while in service, or in international consulting assignments
Rudy’s most recent undergraduate degree is a B.S. in Mathematics from the College of Charleston (2009) Additionally, he has earned degrees in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School, an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University, and an M.S. in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.. He has an adequate knowledge of Spanish, and is working on his French and German.
Also active in his Church and civic organizations, He has been a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church since 1978, served on Church Council for five years, and is presently on the Advisory Board of Franke at Seaside. He is immediate past Southeastern Regional Commander of the Military Order of the World Wars (a patriotic education association), and a former North Charleston Kiwanis Club Secretary.
Rudy and June combined two sizeable families when they married in 2009. Both lost spouses to illnesses, before finding each other. These newlyweds have a combined total of 102 years of experience with married life, five children, seven grandchildren, and two dogs. Hobbies and sports include taking on-line courses, golf and line dancing.
