Blog > 4 Helpful Tips to Sell Your Home
Owning your own home is an accomplishment. After all, in order to do so you have to have a decent credit score, a few thousand dollars in savings and a desire to maintain the home. If you own your home, have been there long enough to have 'built equity' and are ready to 'move up' to a larger home, consider these helpful tips to get your home in shape for showing and selling.
1. Make sure it's been maintained. Start at the curb. Does your house look appealing? Are there trees growing out of the gutters? Do you have 'weed beds' instead of 'flower beds'?
2. Now go inside - room by room - be honest. Do you really need ALL of those 'knick knacks'? The less the better! Declutter, remove furniture that is not needed. Pack up all your personal photos, memorabilia and souvenirs. They have meaning to you, not to a potential buyer.
3. Once you've scaled down - Clean the Rooms - Perhaps you can pay someone to clean your home. There's nothing worse than a buyer taking a peek behind the shower curtain only to find...moldy grout!! Or glancing out the windows on a sunny day and seeing nothing but a foggy film on the window panes.
4. Now you're ready to sign on with a Realtor! I am that Realtor - call me now 843-256-3348 and we'll see how much your home is worth!
