421 Brown Pelican Drive Wando/Cainhoy
The Community:
The Wando - Cainhoy community in Berkeley County is located between Daniel Island and the Town of Mount Pleasant. It is between the Wando River and the Francis Marion Forest and has some of the Lowcountry’s most majestic homes. The exclusive gated subdivision, St. Thomas Point, is a quick, convenient drive from the main thoroughfare Clements Ferry Road. It has recently been widened to accommodate the flourishing communities that exist and are springing up in the area. St. Thomas Point includes 421 Brown Pelican Drive and is close enough to Clements Ferry for getting around but far enough from the traffic for the peaceful tranquility of a riverside community.
Because Brown Pelican Drive is located half-way between Daniel Island and Mt. Pleasant, you have a quick ten-minute drive to either. There, you have access to the upscale shopping and dining that both communities offer. Lowes Foods, Harris Teeter, and Publix give a variety of grocery and open-air markets for access to fresh local vegetables. Walmart, Lowes, and Home Depot are all located a piece up the road on Hwy 17N.
Wando River Grill, Dog and Duck, and Swig and Swine are less than 10 minutes from 421 Brown Pelican Drive. You’ll enjoy Wando River Grill’s upscale menu consisting of seafood, steaks, and pasta along with a charming view of the Wando River. Dog and Duck’s wider variety, like wings, burgers, burritos, and tacos, make up their fun menus. Swig and Swine offers the best BBQ in Charleston- pulled pork, ribs, chicken, brisket with all the sides. Marco’s and Dominoes are only a few minutes away too!
Two award-winning golf courses, Dunes West and RiverTowne Golf Clubs are a convenient ten-minute drive away. Dunes West is a semi-private Arthur Hills Designed Championship course. You’ll play along the banks of Wagner Creek and the Wando River. The clubhouse is full service with a grille and lounge. RiverTowne is Charleston’s only Arnold Palmer Signature golf course. The course is situated among scenic marshlands, tree-lined fairways, and multi-tiered greens protected by bunkers and water. You’ll play beside the Wando River and Horlbeck Creek. In 2015 it received a 4.5 stars rating by Golf Digest, RiverTowne has hosted LGPA tournaments and was named Charleston Golf Course of the Year in 2015.
Brown Pelican Drive is about a mile away from the new Philip Simmons Elementary, Middle and High Schools.
