Chucktown – The Hidden Gem

Charleston, SC, one of the oldest cities in North America, long home to entrepreneurs seeking a new beginning in a port of call acting as a gateway to a world of great opportunity. Now, once again, Charleston is enjoying a bounty of prosperity as it seems the whole of the world has discovered the hidden gem that is Chucktown. Nestled in the southeastern corner of the United States, Charleston has a long and storied past. From the sacking of the city as Sherman sought to punish the place where the War between the states began, to our present day as Charleston enjoys a boom in population and business growth, one could say that Charleston has seen it all! Over the past decade, as Charleston revels in triumphs such claiming one of the deepest ports on the east coast, Boeings expansion and Volvo’s first N. American production facility, just to name a few, Charleston’s star has certainly been on the ascension. As a result of our quaint city’s recent and unprecedented growth, it has begun to appear as if the whole of the world now hopes to call the Low Country home. In the coming weeks, we’ll discuss many of the reasons why Charleston is a terrific place to call home; and some of the more obscure and interesting tales that dot the history of our storied city.
