Hey! Look at me! I'm Penelope the Palmetto bug!
SADLY, I am called ugly, gnarly, and a flying roach…but this is unfair; I and my many dozens of varieties of Palmetto bug cousins are cute…don’t you think?
- I am large and have wings… I crawl and fly but not well
- I love moisture; that is why I have chosen South Carolina as my home
- I love flowers and trees and mulch!
- I might crawl into the house to get warm; I am as thin as a dime so it’s easy to fit anywhere!
- I might fly into the house when you are checking in … so you might want to keep the doors closed!
- I might fly in at night because I LOVE to chase light!
- I won’t be a threat to you; I don’t bite and I don’t carry disease…
- BUT…I’m told that I am scary-looking… and might CREEP you out!
HAIRSPRAY will knock me out cold …and if you don’t want me visiting, don’t leave piles, clutter, and food laying around…Empty your trash and don’t leave the doors and windows open or I might come to visit!
The owners of this home have done EVERYTHING to keep me away, be assured! I’m just Penelope the Palmetto Bug, South Carolina is MY home…and I’m HERE to STAY!
