Blog > Retirement in SC - What's your dream?
Close your eyes and imagine yourself in retirement…
What do you see? A large, brand new home that you can finally afford OR a downsized, just enough space kind of home?

The South Carolina climate is wonderful for retirement. You can enjoy living and dining outdoors year-round. You can be near the beach or a downtown area both with plenty of restaurants, golf courses, shops, and bars.
Unlike some northern states, SC has a wide variety of price ranges. The nice part about the range is that you can get a brand-new home on the lower end of the range.
There are two areas of SC that I cover as a realtor. I’m licensed in the greater Charleston area as well as the greater Myrtle Beach area. This takes in: Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Pawleys Island, Murrells Inlet, and Garden City to name a few in each area.
These areas have many, many festivals throughout the year. The festivals usually revolve around music, food, and crafts and most are free to attend. You honestly have to keep a calendar of events you’d like to attend so you don’t miss them.
The Charleston area is a bit more high-end yet still casual. The area north of Charleston along the coast is more like a fishing and nature-type lifestyle. As I said, both have plenty of restaurants, beaches, golf courses, and places to explore.
You can contact me and I can send you a specific criteria list of homes. I can also answer any questions you may have about South Carolina real estate. You can also follow me on social media. I post info on Instagram, and LinkedIn and I have a personal and a business Facebook page. I’d love to hear from you!
