Did you know that you may be paying more money than you should be in energy costs by overlooking simple fixes at home???

Here are some simple things you can do to cut costs on energy...

  • Change AC filters regularly
    • Changing AC filters is often overlooked, and dirty filters can place unnecessary strain on your AC. This strain not only uses additional energy but costs you more money in the long run. To avoid this oversight, set a reminder on your phone calendar to change your AC filters regularly.
  • Use LED energy-efficient bulbs only
    • These bulbs not only utilize less energy, but they last longer than traditional bulbs. They also do not radiate unnecessary heat during the summer.
  • Use a smart thermostat to regulate temperature
    •  Most Smart thermostats allow you to sync to your phone or other smart devices. You can remotely program your thermostat(s) to run 7 - 10 degrees cooler/warmer while you're away, which can save you money.
  • Turn down your water heater temperature
    • The average water heater is programmed at 140°, but reducing the temperature to 120° can help save on energy.
  • Check windows and doors for gaps/cracks
    • Cracks and gaps in doors and windows can cause your AC to work harder than it has to since intended heated or cooled air seeps out. Simple repairs to doors and windows can save you money by reducing the strain on your AC unit.
