What You Need to Know About Charleston's Newest Culinary Destination, Bar167

I recently had the pleasure of going to Bar167, Hospitality 167's newest outpost in Charleston. The restaurant/ bar is conveniently located just around the corner from 167 Raw, their flagship restaurant. As you enter the establishment, you're hit with a Mediterranean aesthetic. White walls, Aegean sea-blue accents, and other beach-related decor have been selected to create a welcoming atmosphere.

The restaurant has a light menu that is designed to be enjoyed while waiting for a table at nearby 167 Raw. We started off with one of their signature plates, the caviar doughnut. A single doughnut hole was placed atop ajo blanco with a dollop of Regiis Ova caviar adorning the top. The bite was savory and paired well with their signature 'yellow' gin and tonic cocktail. We continued on to their focaccia and stracciatella. Y'all, can I just say how decadent and amazing this was? The stracciatella was velvety and melted in your mouth, while the pomegranate seeds perfectly complemented the cheese and cut the richness, while the fresh focaccia with fennel and rosemary provided the perfect vessel to hold the luscious bite. In addition to the G&T, we also ordered their 'jungle cat' cocktail, which was just the right amount of tang and tequila.

Bar167 is a great new addition to the Charleston dining scene, and I will certainly be back to try more of their luscious plates.
