There is some fantastic news for our area.
Charleston was named the Top City in the US by Conde Nast Travel and Leisure Magazine for the 8th consecutive year! Charleston came in at #18 for the best cities in the World. Amazing!
Our real estate market has been extremely busy. Our previous record for buying activity was in the spring of 2018 when 458 residential properties went under contract in one week. It has usually been about 400-425 each week in the spring over the past few years. However, each of the last 12 weeks has surpassed that record from 2018. And we’ve gone over 500 several times. In the middle of a pandemic, that’s pretty amazing! 2019 was a record year for Charleston real estate sales, but 2020 seems on a pace now to surpass that.
The talk around town is that buyers from the Northeast have decided it’s time to get out of there and move to the best city in the US. We know for sure some of them are as we have been showing them homes! Originally being from the Northeast ourselves, we have experience with relocating to this fabulous place and have never regretted moving here. Many people are buying without actually coming here to see the home. They are relying on the Facetime showings, Zoom showings and 3D visual tours because of the travel restrictions.
With the constant changes who knows if that will continue to be the buying norm or what tomorrow brings in this crazy world. Until then, looking to move to the most amazing area ever? Give us a call or send us a text!
