April showers bring May flowers...and record-breaking real estate numbers here in Charleston

Amazingly enough, even with the pandemic, Charleston has been shattering real estate records this month.

This May, we recorded the highest number of residential properties to go under contract ever. In its history, Charleston has only seen two weeks with 450+ homes go under contract; 452 homes one week in 2017 and 458 homes another week in 2018. In the first week of May 2020, Charleston had 490 homes go under contract. The following week, we had 497- just incredible!

Beyond the record-breaking amount of homes going under contract, we're also up 6.6% in median sales price year-over-year to $293,256. Additionally, transactions are up 3.8% year-over-year. There also hasn't been any sign of increased foreclosure or short sale activity.

Buyers are still flocking to the Holy City, and I'm ready to - safely - find them their dream home.
