Beautiful boats, fantastic food, and live music!
One of Mount Pleasant's most highly anticipated events, The Annual Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival, occurred last weekend and plenty of fun was had by all. The festival was originally started in 1988 by the Magwoods, who operate a successful shrimping business on Shem Creek. Since then, the festival has grown in size and now hosts thousands of visitors at the base of the Ravenel bridge in Waterfront Park.
The event pays tribute to the town's local fishing and shrimping industry and offers live music, craft show, boat parade, and food trucks. It's free for locals and visitors alike.
If you'd like to be within walking distance of the festival next year, contact me for a tour of such desirable neighborhoods as Hobcaw Point and The Tides.
