I'm sure everyone has heard the name, Sarah Sanders. Today I'd like to tell you about Sarah Sanders from Goat Island in SC.

Ms. Sanders is a retired teacher from the Moultrie Middle and High School in Mount Pleasant SC. She has lived on Goat Island since 1969 and at the time, she was the only full-time resident. She 'rowed' to work for 33 years because the only way to Goat Island is by boat! It's certainly a different type of lifestyle living on an island that is only accessible by boat. While there still aren't many full-time residents, there are people who love to spend their week-long vacation fishing, enjoying nature knowing they're only a two-minute boat ride to everything the Isle of Palms and Mt. Pleasant have to offer.

She had a hobby that turned into a business in 2007. She is the creator of the Goat Island Treasure Boxes. They are known as the most desirable gift that 'says Charleston'.  They are sold in art galleries, specialty shops and even the state house gift shop in Columbia.
