Blog > Charleston's Upper Peninsula...Up and Exploding
Charleston South Carolina's desirability is through the roof!
Charleston has been making the 'top' 'friendliest' lists for years now. Charleston does encompass a lot of different areas but the one area that is growing in popularity in leaps and bounds is Charleston's Upper Peninsula.

The Upper Peninsula has Hampton Park for daily runs, picnics, extensive gardens, duck ponds and special events. The Citadel's original facility was built in Marion Square in 1829. The first African American student was enrolled in 1966 and the first female was enrolled in 1996. There's quite a bit of history at this prestigious military college.
Walkability is the key to city living.
There are stores, restaurants, and Downtown Charleston Breweries, opening every day in the Upper King and Meeting Street areas. The city also has a bike share program with many pick up and drop off locations. Check out Holy Spokes Bike Share info.
