Blog > Down the Road from Mt. Pleasant...Awendaw, SC!
You may be familiar with Mt. Pleasant SC. It's a wonderful town right across the Ravenel Bridge from Charleston. Well, just down the road from Mt. Pleasant is the town of Awendaw.
Remember the name...Awendaw.
In the last census, the population was only 1294. A small fishing town. It's beginning to gain in popularity mainly because of the amount of land that's available. It's also desirable because of the prices for the vacant land. You can buy a vacant lot that is 1.34 acres for $95,000! It's unheard of in other Charleston surrounding towns to find large lots at such affordable prices.
Awendaw has a little more rural feel because it is mostly undeveloped. It's the home of The Center for Birds of Prey - Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge as well as the Charleston Zip Line Adventures and of course, you can find plenty of fishing holes.
If you'd like to see Awendaw and see the land I have listed, I'd be happy to show it to you! You can let me know when you're available and I'll route out some sights to see as well.
