It's a city with a small town feel. There are two things that stand out to me (being a transplant from NJ). One is that you don't hear car horns beeping...really. The other is that the news stations and radio stations are all local to the greater Charleston area. So, when there's an event, festival, concert, you hear about it. Everything that's advertised on the tv and radio is a place you've either been or plan to go to. It's all relevant. In NJ we heard NY news.
