Finding Treasures in Downtown Charleston

We took our granddaughter downtown to the Charleston City Market.

There's so much to do and see!

There are several parking lots near the city market and of course street parking too. We parked in a lot across the street from the market. It was very easy, and convenient, and affordable.

Horse and buggy carriage tours are everywhere. Walking through the market, there are all kinds of shops where they sell everything from Southern Candles, hats, jewelry, gallery art, and artists showing and selling their Charleston artwork - just amazing. I loved the homemade basket, and the tile wall art was beautiful.

Our granddaughter fell in love with the handmade soaps, and of course, she had to have a Charleston T-shirt.

Surrounding the market are all kinds of shops and restaurants such as Henrys Seafood & Jazz, the Peninsula Grill with vintage rooftop deck, The Charleston Crabhouse, The Planters Inn, The Tempest Restaurant ....well the list goes on and on. Let's not forget ice cream shops :-) The next time we are downtown, we are definitely going to try Mason's Lobster Rolls! Yum.

The architecture of the buildings is so amazing, with history everywhere. The churches are very charming. Lots of information is available at the Historic Charleston Foundation.

It was a wonderful day filled with treasures everywhere!

Check out the photos I took; I hope you enjoy them.
