Haunted Hot Spot In downtown Charleston

With the holidays comes a lot of celebrations, and Charleston has a lot to offer as far as traditional oyster roast and famous “haunted” pubs. The Blind Tiger at 36-38 Meeting street is one of many downtown spots that have a lot of interesting history within its walls. In 2019 The Blind Tiger was voted Charleston's best bar and outdoor Patio. The term “blind tiger” was coined in the early 1800s. It was a “code” word for illicit gambling and drinking.

Locals say that there were many houses of ill repute on Meeting street; hence The Blind Tiger Pub opened its doors for business in 1992. It has changed hands many times over the years and was renovated in 2016. They celebrate holidays with a free oyster roast, which I personally have enjoyed and appreciated over the years. The patio is the perfect place to grab a drink and enjoy the numerous events The Blind Tiger Pub has to offer. I definitely would recommend that this is a must go to if you're out and about in the charleston area.

The menu is famous for it’s Duck Hash and famous Bloody marys. Sunday brunch is a must. They celebrate all holidays in style and never disappoint. The stroll down meeting street to The Blind Tiger pub is filled with the beautiful architect of downtown Charleston.

Locals say that if you hang around long enough, you can catch a glimpse of the spirit of the untamed “blind tiger’ that has long been rumored to be roaming around through these historic walls down through the years.
