Blog > Hidden Gems Around Charleston - Part 1
Hey guys! This is my first blog post, so I thought I would share one of my local secrets.
Upppon first moving to Charleston, I didn't comprehend how unique a city it was or how lucky I was to live there and attend school there. After living here a few years, I am still finding new local businesses and unique places I have yet to explore/experience.
Over my next few blog post, I will be diving into some of my favorite places in and around the city and sharing them with you!
For this blog post, I want to tell you about one of my favorite areas right outside downtown, Sullivan's Island.
From the laidback lifestyle to the sweet people that live there, Sullivan's Island is truly a gem, and it's only a few minutes away from the charming streets of downtown. Even with the shops, bars, and restaurants the Island offers, I would have to say my favorite place on the Island, and one of my favorite areas of all time is right at the end of the Island. If you take the main road to the end of the Island just as the pavement ends and the dirt road begins, you will find the most charming and peaceful stretches of beach I have ever seen. No matter how long or stressful of a day (and I think we all had those days in 2020), there's something about this section of the beach that makes it all okay, and if you ever find yourself on Sullivans around sunset, I would highly recommend going there to watch it. There is truly nothing like catching a Charleston sunset on Sullivan's Island.
