Finally! It's that time of the year, Christmas cheer, Christmas lights, ugly Christmas sweaters, gifts galore, and snow ( depending on where you live).

Taking place for 30 days at the end of the year in South Carolina, you have quite a few events you could attend if you're in Charleston or surrounding areas.

  • Governor's Carol Lighting in Columbia

This event will feature holiday music performed by choirs and artists from around the state, pics with Santa, the governor's message, some hot chocolate, and of course, the lighting of the State tree.

  • Holiday Ice Rink

Have fun with the family around the open-air rink across from Fountain Park in Rock Hill.

  • Holiday Festival of Lights

Take a drive through millions of dancing lights with surprises along the way in James Island.

  • Brookgreen Gardens' Nights of a Thousand Candles

2,700 hand-lit candles, food, lights, music, and live performances.

  • Holiday Swing: Charleston Jazz

Charleston Jazz Orchestra will be performing holiday favorites- bring your blankets and chairs.

  • The Nutcracker

Performed by The Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre and Coastal Dance center.

There are way too many events happening to list them all. No matter how busy you are trying to get set-up for Christmas, buying gifts, or preparing your home for visitors, take time for local events. Enjoy the moment. Get ready for 2021. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
