Homes are Selling in Charleston Despite the Virus!

Now that you have time to read my blog post I thought I'd let you know about the listing statistics in the Charleston Tri-County Area. I listed a home for sale on Thursday 4/2 and it received multiple offers and we had a ratified contract on Monday the 6th. You can see on the chart below on one day there were 26 New Listings, there were 13 closings, and 32 homes went under contract! 

As I mentioned in my last post sellers have to sell and buyers have to buy. Sometimes it's for an employment position, perhaps people have sold their homes in other states and are moving here with the intention of buying. There are also renters who have come to the end of their rental lease and are hoping to buy their first house instead of signing another one year lease. Whatever the circumstances, there are serious buyers out there. The sellers who aren't serious have decided not to list or to withdraw their listing. 

If you'd like your home to be seen by serious buyers and have fewer homes for potential buyers to compare to yours, now is the time to list! It's as simple as supply and demand. 

I have a plan in place in order to show homes in a safe and responsible manner. I go into each listing with gloves, mask, booties, and wipes. I take a video and do a slide show as well. Because I'm a Zillow Premier Agent, Zillow uploads my videos and slide shows on their website. I pay a professional photographer to come in and take photos of the home. Seeing the videos and photos weeds out the looky-loos.

I leave a supply of the PPE items in each home I list. When my listings receive showing requests I ask my sellers to leave all interior doors open and all lights turned on so there's less for the buyer and their agent to touch while in the home.
