Isle of Palms Beach

One of my husbands and my favorite things to do in Charleston is take our Great Dane Max to the beach.  Isle of Palms beach is our go-to.  So much so that we got married on this very beach. It’s lined with beautiful homes and it’s a long beach we can walk on and Max can run and play with the other dogs.

Isle of Palms is a short drive from Charleston and Mount Pleasant.  During the summer it can get pretty busy with swimmers but it’s always a good time. The waves are small so it’s a wonderful beach to take small kids to. If you are wanting to surf, then I would suggest Folly Beach but if you want to lay in the sun and play in the water then Isle of Palms Beach will do the trick.

In the evenings the beach is busy with people walking and dogs playing and living their best lives. If you plan to take your dog to Isle of Palms they can be off-leash 5:00am-9:00am April 1st through September 14th and from 4:00pm until 10:00am September 15th through March 31st. Your dog must be vaccinated against rabies and have a metal license tag attached to its collar with the name of the veterinarian who provided the vaccine.  You also must have your dog's leash in hand, in case it’s needed.

I hope you check out one of my favorite places in Charleston and if it’s summertime, don’t forget your sunscreen!
