Summer on IOP

One of the many perks of Mount Pleasant living is the proximity to the beach and coastal community the Isle of Palms. Besides the seemingly endless miles of white sandy beaches, "IOP" offers numerous summer activity and events providing fun for the entire family. Here are a few of the happenings that will be taking place in July and August.

Celebrate America's Birthday with the Isle of Palms 4th of July Fireworks on Thursday, July 4th at Front Beach IOP. The firework show will begin after dark. Please note individual fireworks are prohibited. The Isle of Palms 2019 Beach run will take place on Saturday, July 27th. The 10k and 5k Run/Walk begin at 8 am and is followed by the Youth Run at 9:00 am. Registration and packet pick up are Friday, July 26th 4:30pm-6: 30 pm at the Windjammer 1008 Ocean Blvd. Registration is $30 for the run and $10 for the youth run. If you are looking to play a little baseball this summer, then grab your buddies for the 21st Annual Half Rubber Tournament Saturday, August 17th. You must register in teams of three or four, and registration is $25 per person. Players must be age 16 and up. Games begin at 8:00 am, and prizes are awarded to 1st and 2nd place.
