A list of our local water utility companies

We all have been in places where we tried the tap water and almost had to throw up.
I lived for a while in Florida and for a while in New York and the difference in the taste of water was like drinking chlorine straight from the bottle or enjoying the freshness of Niagara Falls.

Anyways, our water here tastes! good!  A great thank you to our water utility companies and their
use of state-of-the-art reverse osmosis technology.

Here are some helpful names and numbers:

Charleston Water System: established in 1917! The water supplied by this fine company is considered one of the cleanest in the country !! CHS Water serves pretty much all of Charleston County incl. James Island, and some parts of North Charleston. More details can be found on their website: www.charlestonwater.com or call 843.727.6800

Mount Pleasant Waterworks: established in 1935 and operating since 1942. This company is using the Charleston Water System and the Middendorf Aquifer as a water source. More info on their website: www.mountpleasantwaterworks.com or call 843.884.9626St.

St. Johns Water Company serves Johns Island and Wadmalaw Island, parts of Kiawah and Seabrook. This company has a brand new website: www.stjohnswaterco.myruralwater.com
and their phone number is 843.559.0186

Berkeley Water System serves all of Berkeley County as far away as Moncks Corner. This company also serves Ladson, Goose Creek, Hanahan, Huger and parts of Daniel Island and parts of Summerville. Their website is www.bcwsa.com and they can be reached at 843.761.8817

Dorchester County Water Authority also serves part of Summerville and Moncks Corner. This company was established in 1965. Their website is www.dcwaonline.com and they can be reached at 843.875.0140
