No Stone Throw Can Break the Spirit of Charleston

Arriving on King Street Sunday morning to help the crowds clean up was devastating.

It nearly brought me to tears to see how the Riots from the night before had destroyed our Beloved City. It seemed senseless to see all the smashed in business' windows and hear about stolen ATMs and Cash Registers. The Owner of John King told me his entire bar was stolen, and the cash register ripped out of the counter, as he showed me one of the bricks that the Looters had thrown through his window. The Apple store was wiped clean with the alarm still sounding as we walked by the completely smashed window. What I saw next was a vision of unity, though. Hundreds of locals came out to clean up, board up, and get King Street back together before the 6 PM curfew. It was a beautiful sight after something so tragic.

Just shortly after recovering from COVID-19, some of my favorite businesses were greatly affected, including Halls Chophouse, which we were just at the evening before. Basil, Juanita Greenberg's, Stars, and Republic were other places I frequent that were hit. I will keep you all posted as these businesses open back up. In the meantime, let's pray for Charleston and every affected city, that the violence will come to an end.
