Blog > Pepperhill - A Transitional Neighborhood
While riding through certain areas of Charleston SC, you may notice that certain areas seem dated and forgotten about. It is my opinion that Charleston and its residents are doing a pretty good job at changing this rhetoric. Take the well-established North Charleston neighborhood of Pepperhill for example. These are single-family homes built in the 60s and 70s. For the past couple of years, this neighborhood has become a transitional neighborhood.
Within the past year, there have been 40 homes sold in the neighborhood. The reason that this is considered a transitional neighborhood is that the majority of those 40 homes sold have been renovated by investors to bring them from the past and into the 20th century. This makes these once "ancient" homes more modern and desirable.
North Charleston recreational department has also done its part to contribute to the resurgence of this neighborhood. The Pepperhill Community center which hosts an array of youth athletics has had a complete facelift. Three brand new baseball fields and a revamped field used for football and soccer on the backside.
This neighborhood is an investor's dream, and in turn, it's becoming a homeowner's dream. As a resident myself, I have noticed that the recent improvements have inspired the existing owners to take more pride in their properties which helps the neighborhood overall. If you're looking for a home that has easy access to all of North Charlestons' attractions then maybe it's time to look more into Pepperhill.
