Ensure now that your pets are up to date on all vaccines and carry a copy of the list of immunizations with you if you need to find a place to keep them safe.
Some recommend having your pets "microchipped" in case you get separated. Keep in mind the average person who finds your pet won't be able to scan for a chip, but they can read a primary tag on collar. So make sure you have an ID tag on their collar.

If you have a rescue sticker alert on your window, make sure it is visible to rescue workers, and that it includes the type of pet and number in household.
If you must evacuate with your pet, write "EVACUATED" across sticker, so rescue workers don't waste time looking for them.
