Ravenel Bridge

Today I was driving over the Ravenel bridge and it just hit me how blessed we are for this bridge. For most of you that are new to Charleston, you say it looks beautiful but what’s so special about it. Let me tell you!

The first bridge that I saw coming from Charleston to Mount Pleasant was a 2 Lane bridge and I bet everybody was thrilled to have it but a little nervous at the same time. Over time they decided to put another bridge him to accommodate the traffic flow so they built another bridge beside the old bridge well that bridge was only met for one-way traffic from Charleston to Mount Pleasant but they did put in a lane for commercial vehicles from Mount Pleasant to Charleston but most of everybody else still had to use it 2 lane bridge to get from Mount Pleasant to Charleston and I’ll tell you it was scary.

So in short we are very blessed to have the Ravenel Bridge now.
