IAAM

THE CHARLESTON WATERFRONT

Donors and sponsors already raised 75 Million $$$ to build the International African-American Museum (IAAM) and construction are set to begin soon.  A huge part was a very sizeable donation of  $125,000 by the Charleston native Herbert L. Drayton III, whose ancestors were enslaved at Middleton Place and who arrived in Charleston through Gadsden Wharf. This is the place where the museum will be constructed. By the way: AGENTOWNED REALTY is a huge supporter and sponsor for this museum!

The location of the new museum will be close to the neighborhood DOCKSIDE, one of the very few high-rise properties on the Charleston peninsula. This 19 stories luxury condo building overlooks the  Charleston Harbor, the Ravenel Bridge, and the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier across the harbor in Mt. Pleasant.

Dockside was built in 1987 and features 2-3 bedroom condos, and wonderful amenities incl. a  library, sauna, indoor heated pool and a fitness room, dock facilities, underground parking and 24/7 security.
From here it is not far to walk to many attractions i.e the SC Aquarium, many restaurants, Marion Square and King Street, the high-end shopping heaven.

Looking to own a condo at Dockside? If you are lucky and one comes up for sale, you have to be ready and act quickly. Best to have a pre-qualification for a mortgage in hand or pay cash.

Check out all condos that are for sale or that have sold in Dockside here!
