We are very fortunate to have so many amazing, breathtaking views in the Charleston area. One of my personal favorites is The Authur Ravenel Jr. Bridge.

The Ravenel Bridge is the cable-stayed bridge over the Cooper River connecting downtown Charleston to Mt. Pleasant. The Ravenel Bridge Has a main span of 1,546 feet and is the 3rd longest cable-stayed bridge in the Western Hemisphere. Construction on the bridge started in 2001 and opened during a week-long celebration in July 2005. The total length of the structure is 13,200 ft. and is 573 ft. in height. The bridge cost $632 million to build. There are 8 lanes where the world-famous Cooper River Bridge Run is held every year.

Thousands of walkers and bikers enjoy the bridge every year on the 5-mile round trip path. Things you cannot do on the bicycle and pedestrian lane:

  • No Motor vehicles (except motorized wheelchairs)
  • No skateboards, scooters, or skates
  • No parking or locking of bicycles against the rail
  • No bicycles or pedestrians in vehicle lanes
  • No pets
  • No fishing from the bridge
  • No discharging fireworks, throwing any objects, or climbing on the railings
  • No jumping, bungee jumping, catapulting, or any like act from the bridge

Call me today to go for a walk on the bridge and talk about finding your home with a view!
