Buying and selling a home is arguably the biggest transaction you will make in a lifetime.

Given the magnitude of this event, you cannot trust the job to just anyone off the street. In a market that is saturated with Real Estate Agents, how do you know what separates the exceptional from the average? I would like to invite you to consider these five traits when selecting your next Realtor.


1.A desire to help people


For an agent, real estate is fundamentally about building relationships. If your agent's number one goal is something other than ensuring your happiness and satisfaction with the transaction, then you should be looking for someone new.


2. They listen to you


When it comes to homes we all have specific wants and desires that are unique to us. Your agent's job is to listen to these details and take action accordingly. Too often you will find an agent that is pushing their agenda instead of yours.


3. Enthusiasm for Real Estate


When someone is not passionate about their career it shows, and that will be reflected in their work. As a client, you are looking for someone who will put their best foot forward at all times. An agent who has a true interest in real estate will perform their best for you because their job energizes them.


4. Attention to Detail


Success as a real estate agent is going to take a person who is both thorough and conscientious. A small slip up on a contract could cost your client money or even worse, end up in a lawsuit. An eye for detail will ensure a much smoother transaction.


5.Honesty and Integrity


Perhaps the most important trait any agent should have is a sense of honesty and integrity. At the end of the day, we all need to be conducting business with someone we trust has our best interest at heart.
