Tiny Houses Growing in Popularity

Last week I asked you to 'think outside the box' in regards to Tiny Houses.  This week I'd like to let you know the approximate cost for buying land and having a Tiny House put on that vacant land.

Of course the price will differ depending on a) Location and b) Size of the lot.  If you like to go fishing and hunting you can buy a half acre to a little over an acre in Berkeley, Colleton and parts of Dorchester and Charleston County for under $10,000.

If you'd like to be in one of the new Hot locations such as Park Circle in N. Charleston you can pay up to $40k for a smaller lot.

The homes start at approximately $6000.

So as you can see, location and the size of the lot determine the price of the land.  Where there is less land available, the price increases.

If you're thinking of going Tiny, the best advice is to keep it simple and keep it Tiny.  You can pay as little as $16000 and never have a Mortgage payment or a Rent payment Again!  You will only have to pay real estate property taxes and utilities!  How awesome is that?!  It will require little time for maintenance and you'll have free time and money to spend on your hobbies!
