Blog > Walkability is Key in Charleston's Upper Peninsula
People in search of a new home often look for a community that fits their needs or more specifically, a lifestyle.
Charleston's Upper Peninsula, NoMo or North King St. is rapidly becoming a lifestyle people are in search of. It's downtown living with a mix of older homes and new builds. It's convenient to the Lower Peninsula as well as all the major roads that connect to Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, James Island and the Northern towns like Summerville.
You'll find art, small/local businesses and a lot of restaurants and breweries! Small business owners are bringing back the 'corner store'. Whether it's for a cup of coffee and plant-based, gluten-free food options at The Harbinger Cafe or the best, steamed bagel breakfast or lunch choices at Eastside Bagels - both revitalizing neighborhoods and bringing the community together by hosting a place for strangers to become friends. And Walkability is key!
These communities are also home to the 60 acres Hampton Park, The Citadel, Brittlebank Park and Joe Riley's - Riverdogs Stadium - There's plenty to do in the small town, city neighborhoods of Charleston. Check out some of Charleston's little-known neighborhoods with my series of posts!
