Winter Happenings at Boone Hall Plantation

Boone Hall, Winter Fun, and Maybe a Wedding!

Since my last Blog Post, I have yet to pick a Wedding Venue, but continue to tour some of Charleston's most beautiful and historic plantations. A top contender now is Boone Hall Plantation off Long Point Rd in Mt Pleasant. I can easily see why it was named "America's Most Photographed Plantation." In 1743, the Son of Major John Boone planted to rows of evenly planted Oak Trees as you approached his home. Over 2 Centuries later, the moss-draped branches grew to meet overhead, forming the Oak tree-lined corridor, that NBC Daytime says it is "a must-see stop to any trip to Charleston, S.C."

And coming up January 26 at Bone Hall is one of my FAVORITE events of the Season, The Lowcountry Oyster Festival. It is actually the World's LARGEST Oyster Festival, which includes Oyster shucking and Oyster Eating Contests, Food Trucks, a Food Court, and Live Music from 10AM-5PM.

And if you live across the street, at Snee Farm, hop on your GolfCart and come join the party! The close proximity to Boone Hall, along with being a Golfer's Paradise. If you are looking to be close to the action, but still have a preserved small-town community feel (and able to walk to all of the Boone Hall e Events), Snee Farm is a wonderful option with homes listed from the low $200's to the high $700's.
