How much square footage per home does $300,000 buy in the Charleston area ?

According to a study of the top 50 U.S. real estate markets, $300,000 buy you about  1,449 square feet, or $207 per square foot. 

The most recent report, from October, on home sales in the Charleston region showed the median price is $240,000, up about $15,000, or 6.7 percent, from the same month one year earlier. That comes out to about $166 per square foot for a house with 1,449 square feet. That of course depends on neighborhood and location. Here are some specifics by area:
