    Smoked Old Fashioned,Aaron Tipton

I’m a big fan of an Old Fashioned but adding a hint of smoke to it, takes it to the next level. The basic recipe for an Old Fashioned is: 1 tsp sugar, 2-3 dashes bitters, 2oz bourbon or rye whiskey, and garnish with an orange peel. Bitters are spirits infused with botanicals (herbs and spices) that are used to flavor cocktails. The most common is Angostura bitters, but there is a large variety from celery to walnut. For sugar, you can use a basic sugar cube or simple syrup. If you want to take it to the next level can use simple syrup made from honey or even maple syrup. Not the type you put on your pancakes, but there are options that have been infused with herbs or aged in a bourbon barrel. I add the smoke by, setting some oak wood chips on fire with a kitchen torch. Then I invert a carafe over them. When the carafe is sufficiently full of smoke, I flip it over, fill it, and place saran wrap over to keep the smoke in. I also use the same chips to fill the glass with smoke for added flavor.   To make add the sugar and bitters and muddle together. Pour in the liquor and squeeze the juice from the orange peel and give it a mix and add ice. Toss in the orange peel and enjoy. Call me today to talk about finding your dream home over an amazing smoked Old Fashioned.

    Handcraft Kitchen & Cocktails,Linnea MurrayBrunckhorst

What a fantastic place for a time-out from a busy day! I have driven by Handcraft Kitchen & Cocktails numerous times and always wondered about it, I am so glad that I finally made it there. The food and cocktails are both spectacular and you can tell they put a lot of love into the creations. Our server couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful. The cocktail list made it really hard to make a decision. I ended up ordering the "Sangria" and my husband got the "Jam Session". The Jam session had kiwi, passion fruit, macadamia, and rum among other things. The presentation of both drinks was very pretty. The food was also fantastic. The happy hour menu is great with things like the SmashBurger, fried pickles, shrimp, and beer cheese and mac. I ordered the jumbo shrimp and wings and both were unique and delicious. My husband got a pimento grilled cheese sandwich and flatbread pizza. My husband and I both agreed we will be going back to Handcraft Kitchen & Cocktails to try more of the options.  Call me today to meet up at Handcrafted to talk about the great neighborhoods you could live in to walk or drive your golf cart to this amazing restaurant.
