And you can’t explore the area in person before you move... I’ve got you! Moving to an unfamiliar place sure can feel scary, but it’s more common than you might think. I’ve worked with many people relocating to the Charleston area, and I hope you’ll reach out if you’re considering a move. I’m here to guide you through each step as we go.  If you've never been here, we'll first chat about lifestyle preferences, budget, and area specifics so that you understand the subtle differences between our neighborhoods. I’m happy to provide pictures, videos, neighborhood tours & info, and answer questions until we narrow down your favorites. Surprisingly this piece usually happens faster than you might expect. Knowing the areas so well as a local, it’s usually pretty clear which ones are the best potential matches. I’ve included a sample of images below from downtown Charleston, Sullivan’s Island, and Mt. Pleasant to show how magical this place is.  I can preview properties for you if you're unavailable, or FaceTime (video) tours allow you to be more hands-on. You might even have a friend or family member attend showings for you… anything that helps you feel more comfortable. If you decide to purchase a new home, I can help to coordinate inspections right away so that you are informed of the strengths and any possible issues. I love showing off our fabulous Lowcountry, and it’s a privilege to connect you with your next home. So I guess my next question is… If you’re considering a move to the Charleston area, what are you waiting for? Let’s chat!

  • The Good and Bad About Moving To Charleston

The Good and Bad About Moving To Charleston,Ashley Melton

If you're thinking about moving to Charleston, South Carolina, I've got a local's perspective on the good and bad of moving to this amazing Lowcountry city with a few “Goods” and a few “Bads”. The Good Southern Charm Charleston regularly wins awards for being one of the best places to visit in the country and it's easy to understand why. Charleston’s colorful downtown area is packed with amazing architecture dating back to its founding and the sidestreets endlessly reveal one amazing discovery after another. Great Food Everything from the freshest seafood to award-winning fine dining, Charleston's food scene has been top-notch for a very long time and I doubt it will change anytime soon! If you're a foodie, you can guarantee to be spoiled with the amazing number of dining options just in the immediate city itself. Don't even get me started about all the other options as you venture further out into the surrounding areas. The Beaches Living in Charleston, you're minutes away from the water no matter where you are. So, it's incredibly easy (and addicting) to spend a day at the beach enjoying the sound of the waves and reading a good book or dropping by on the way home from work for a stroll along the beach to decompress. THE BAD Traffic Because Charleston is a peninsula, bridges are needed to access a number of places out side the city which can create bottlenecks during high-traffic times. It becomes even more challenging if there's an accident along those routes. You’ll have to plan accordingly if you decide to head out of downtown. Bugs Charleston’s quirks are charming and its qualities are cherished here and it's not hard to see why folks that come here to visit sometimes never leave. Have you been thinking about moving to the Lowcountry? Get started by looking at the homes for sale in Charleston South Carolina and feel free to get in touch with any questions I didn't answer here.        By Ashley Melton, Realtor®

Just Moved to Charleston/Mt. Pleasant? ,Jennifer Schutters

I KNOW real estate. In fact, was a Top Producer in my previous state.  NOW learning the history of my new home area and it is soooo exciting! I have a lot of knowledge regarding Historic Real Estate,  but CHARLESTON Real Estate is like no other, and boy is it fun!   Charleston ~ I am fascinated with the history of Charleston and the absolute BEAUTY of the city.  I have traveled to Charleston many times and have loved every minute.  The hubby and I went on a Friday morning walking tour a few weeks ago; it felt so decadent to take a morning away from my real estate business.  This tour was sponsored by the Historic Charleston Foundation and started HERE.  The tour and store staff were very friendly and knew their history well! I was amazed at the number of tourists on the tour with us and very happy to see that ALL AGES were present and interested!    Preservation is key and so is the future involvement of our kids. I've included pics from my morning tour but there is SO much more to see, feel, and experience.   Enjoy and if you feel led, please contribute to this worthy foundation that does so many good things for our Beloved Charleston https://www.historiccharleston.org/donate/   Call me today to talk about Charleston's history and find your dream home!
