  • Wannamaker Park - Splash Paw Zone

Wannamaker Park - Splash Paw Zone,Chris Syffus

A great addition to Charleston County Parks for our four-legged friends! As summer heats up, the heat limits our pets' outdoor activities.  However, at Wannamaker Park, they have an exciting solution to the heat for our pets!  They changed the dog park to suit most dogs during the summer. They have moved the dog park area and updated it as the Splash Paw Zone. The Splash Paw Zone is ideal for dogs that love to play in the water to keep cool. The dog run area is still separated to accommodate different sizes of dogs with one for 25 pounds and under and one for 26 pounds and over. The zones have benches that you can sit in and watch your pets play as well.            After a hard playtime as we all know our pets can smell less than desirable.  The park has installed a solution to make the ride home a more pleasant one by having a dog wash station where you can wash and dry your pet before heading home.            This new park makes the park more enjoyable. Call me today to talk about real estate while our four-legged friends play.

  • Charleston Dog Parks - Cannon park

Charleston Dog Parks - Cannon park,Donna Andreano

There are parks all over the Charleston peninsula and the one I'm sharing with you today is primarily for dogs! Cannon Park is located at 131 Rutledge Ave. in downtown Charleston. It is clearly visible from the street and is know for it's focal point of four grand columns which are the remains of a convention hall that was built in 1899. You can read more about the complete history of the hall here:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannon_Park_(Charleston,_SC)  The convention hall was later a theatre, a hospital and a museum before a fire took down the building. They left the four columns as a tribute.  While the park is not fenced in, dogs are allowed off leash. There are also walking paths and a small playground for children. Volunteers with the Conservancy have scheduled for a volunteer clean up called GARDEN IN THE PARKS: CANNON PARK on Thursday 4/13/17. If you miss this date you can sign up to volunteer for any of the other parks in Charleston as they spruce up all the parks in Charleston on different dates.   For more information on all parks in Charleston click here: https://www.charlestonparksconservancy.org/* Remember - you can live in Charleston and frequent beautiful parks by contacting me and letting me help you find a great home!

  • My Top 3 Doggie Hot Spots

My Top 3 Doggie Hot Spots,Elissa Campbell

Here are the three best doggie play parks in Charleston: 1.  James Island County ParkMy #1 recommendation, your dogs will never want to leave!  Situated in James Island County Park, this is the Dog Park Mecca!  There is both a Small and Large Dog section.  Then it opens up to over 4 Acres of running freedom for your pup with picnic tables and benches for their humans.  It then opens up to a giant lake where dogs can swim and splash to their heart's content!   2. Dog Park behind Alahambra Hall, Mt PleasantThis beautiful space on the Marsh looks like Doggie Heaven!  It is not fenced in, but not like your dog is going to want to leave this place! It is behind the Historic Alhambra Hall in the  Old Village, also a beautiful venue for weddings and other social events!   3.  Pitt St Bridge and Pickett Park, Mt PleasantThe Pitt Street Bridge, builtin 1898 used to be the bridge connecting Sullivan's Island and Mt Pleasant.  Most of the bridge has burned, and the existing section is now a great fishing pier.  It opens up to Picket Park, where you can walk your pups, let them roll in the grass, or snuggle on a bench and enjoy the view of the Ravenel Bridge!          Elissa Campbell  elissa.campbell@agentownedrealty.com Cell: 603-540-7242
