Charleton Wedding Venues Continued... If you have been following my Blog Series about Plantation Wedding Venues, then I would love your opinion as I try to narrow down my (I mean our) decision. This week brought us to the breathtaking Legare-Waring House in Charlestowne Landing. On my search for the Quintessential Charleston Plantation, Charlestowne Landing has it all. Boasting rows of Grand Oak trees, Charlestown Landing was the first permanent English settlement in South Carolina. The house was thought to be built around 1840 but was not the primary residence until the major redesign project by Ferdi Legare in the mid-1930s. She and her husband designed the house in Colonial Revival Style, embracing symmetry and classical elements. The house itself serves as an amazing Wedding Venue, with both the Bride and the Groom have extensive unique looking spaces, pictured below, including multiple changing rooms and bathrooms. Downstairs is what was the Living Area, which is often used as the cake room.   Charlestowne Landing boasts 80 acres of beautiful gardens. You can go visit Animal Forest, a natural habitat zoo, or tour the Adventure, Charleston's only 17th Century sailing ship. If living close to such a magnificent State Park interests you, Charlestowne Estates is a wonderful neighborhood.
